Felice Varini

2022

Felice Varini is famous for transforming public spaces into spectacular visual displays. His installations defy the way people perceive volume, perspective, and design. Although often temporary, his displays are deeply embedded in the reality of the space he works in. His exploration of outdoor and architectural spaces embraces the history and complexity of the materials, contours and volumes. The artist chooses a single point of view easily accessible to the public which offers a unique vision of the whole area. From this perspective, the viewer will see a defined shape or design on the building, such as perfectly concentric circles or a set of lines that seem to cross each other. Visitors can then move freely around the space to discover an infinite variation of perspectives where the shapes almost seem to come to life.
